HMRC (who are working on MTD to start April 2026) will start a new email digital project from Spring 2026. They plan to grow to 90% of contact with taxpayers online or digital by 29/30.
Anyone who uses the HMRC app or personal account (PTA) will be in the first group of taxpayers affected. HMRC target is to save £50m a year in prnt and postage cost by 28/29.
Legislation will be included in the Finance Bill 25/26
